Why are we here? The primary mission of YWAM Budapest is training missionaries and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ in the Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe including the former Soviet Republics, Romania, India, Turkey, Greece, former Yugoslavia, and of course Hungary.
Why Budapest? Budapest is well positioned geographically and culturally for this work in the region. The dedicated staff of 23 represent many nations. They are applying their gifts to the demonstration of Christ's love here. Click the thumbnail to see a staff picture taken at a recent leadership retreat.

How we got here We received training for missions through Discipleship Training School (DTS) at the YWAM base in Amsterdam. DTS training consists of three months of lectures and local outreach, followed by three months of outreach in a foreign country. We did our outreach phase in Budapest, Hungary. We returned to Amsterdam to serve on DTS staff for two years and ultimately felt called to join a team establishing a YWAM base in Budapest.

Happenings in the area
Budapest God is doing amazing things among the people of this historic city and in all of central Europe. This is especially true with Hungarian youth who are open to a message of love and hope. This region is exploding with prosperity and with it all the worldly tensions and temptations of western culture.
The Balkans The youth of the Balkans are desperate not to be left behind, but are suffering from the effects of war and ethnic strife. The hope of reconciliation burns in their hearts.
Romania Situated just east of Hungary but culturally and economically far away, God is opening many doors between the two nations. A Discipleship Training School is now prospering in Romania after being planted by leaders from the Budapest school. It is now operating with its own Romanian staff.
